History

Co-operative Hail Insurance Company Ltd. was established in Saskatchewan under the Co-operatives Act in 1947.  The company was organized by farmers with the purpose of providing hail insurance protection to producers at cost.  In 1951 the company expanded coverage to Manitoba, and has operated in both provinces since that time.  To learn more about the organization click here ....more....

Capital Preservation

Though the company's primary goal is to provide producers protection at cost, it also ensures protection to its members by maintaining strong capital reserves and protection of those reserves through a re-insurance protection program. With significant annual risk values the re-insurance program provides protection guarantees for payment of claims in severe loss years, but preserves the company's capital reserves needed for a continued strong financial future.
