About Us

Co-operative Hail Insurance Company Ltd. was organized by farmers of Saskatchewan in 1947 to provide hail insurance protection to producers at cost. The Company started writing in Manitoba in 1951 and has operated in both provinces since that time. The Company has built significant reserves and continues to purchase reinsurance to protect those reserves and to ensure payment of losses in full.

Officers And Directors

Members

Co-operative Hail Insurance is fully owned by its members. Producers may purchase a crop hail insurance policy by becoming a member. There is a one-time fee of $1 to purchase a membership share. In addition, equity is built up in the member's name through the payment of dividends to a maximum of $500. Any excess is paid out in cash. 

Agents

Today, Co-op Hail serves virtually all of the agricultural regions within Saskatchewan and Manitoba. This is accomplished through our network of 1000 loyal agents. To write a crop hail insurance policy with us, please contact our office for the name and phone number of the agent in your area.

Adjusters

The Company has a crew of 70 experienced licensed adjusters situated throughout Saskatchewan and Manitoba. This allows claims to be dispatched in a timely manner once notification of crop hail damage is received by our office.

Our goal is to provide members with fair and skillful adjustments. As such, our adjuster's skills are kept current through a combination of formal classroom training, practical regional field workshops and of course hands-on experience.
